Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the US has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
